About Us
Welcome to the Town of Ranburne! We are defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents hold dear. We take pride in maintaining a wholesome lifestyle, rich in history, along with a deep commitment to the preservation of our environment and a progressive approach to local business.
The Town of Ranburne was established in 1957. Adrian Cook was the first Mayor. Then Virgil Lowery, Clyde Gibbs, Pat Arrington, Mike Wiggins, Herman Gizzard, Owen Lowery, Jim Smith and Chuck Smith. The old Town Hall and Police Department was the location of the Town business until 1983. In 1983 the Town Hall moved to 21383 Main Street, this location was once an clothing manufacturing business. Pat Arrington was Mayor at this time. The Police Department remained at the original location.
The current Mayor is Rodney Brown, elected in August 2020. In November, the Town Hall & Police Department was moved to a new location, 21459 Main Street, the former location of the Bulldog Farmhouse Restaurant and later the Way of Life Church.
